3-Day Classic Tanzania Big Five Safari

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. You will drive through the scenic highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to Serengeti National Park, enjoying breathtaking views along the way. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you will begin your afternoon game drive across the vast plains that make this park world-famous. The Serengeti is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos — collectively known as the Big Five. You may also encounter cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous antelope species. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge or tented camp in the Serengeti.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti, when predators are most active and wildlife sightings are at their best. The endless plains provide excellent opportunities to witness large herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as lions, hyenas, and other predators. In the afternoon, depart the Serengeti and proceed toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you may enjoy additional wildlife viewing before arriving at your lodge on the crater rim or in the nearby Karatu area. Dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation.

After an early breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations, offering a unique ecosystem with a dense concentration of animals within its natural caldera. You may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and, with luck, the rare black rhino. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site inside the crater before continuing your exploration. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
