After settling in, you'll have an initial meeting with your climbing team and guide. This meeting serves as an opportunity to discuss the upcoming trek, go over the itinerary, and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment. Take this time to rest and prepare mentally and physically for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

After completing registration at Londorossi Gate, start your trek through the rainforest, where you'll likely spot Colobus monkeys and a variety of birds. The hike is relatively short, about 3-4 hours, leading to Mti Mkubwa Camp for your first night on the mountain.

  • Day 2:Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)

Begin the day with a gradual ascent through the heather and moorland zone, enjoying views of the Shira Plateau. This 5-6 hour hike brings you to Shira 1 Camp, where you'll camp near the rim of an ancient volcanic caldera.

  • Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

A relatively easy day, trekking across the Shira Plateau with its expansive views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. This 4-5 hour hike ends at Shira 2 Camp, where you'll enjoy the spectacular sunset over the plateau.

  • Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut (4,200m)

Continue ascending through the moorlands, passing the Lava Tower, a significant acclimatization point. After lunch, trek for 6-8 hours to Moir Hut, which sits in a remote area of the mountain offering solitude and magnificent views.

  • Day 5: Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp (4,020m)

A more challenging day as you climb over the Lent Hills, then descend into the expansive Buffalo Camp. This 5-7 hour trek takes you through varied landscapes and provides an excellent acclimatization opportunity.

  • Day 6: Buffalo Camp to Third Cave (3,870m)

Continue along the Northern Circuit route with a relatively gentle 4-6 hour hike to Third Cave. This path offers a quieter, less-traveled experience, with ample time to enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the region.

  • Day 7: Third Cave to School Hut (4,800m)

A steep ascent awaits as you head toward School Hut, passing the Saddle, a lunar-like desert between Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. This 5-7 hour hike prepares you for the summit push, with an early dinner and rest.

  • Day 8: School Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Millennium Camp (3,950m)

Begin your final ascent around midnight, trekking through the darkness toward Gilman's Point on the crater rim. From there, continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest. This grueling day takes 12-15 hours in total.
